Virgin Holidays get electronic invoicing

Online service allows secure document transfer for travel company

Virgin Holidays has started using an online service to help it communicate with thousands of travel agents electronically.

The secure electronic document delivery system has been brought in to eliminate postage and print costs on the estimated 375,000 invoices the company sends out each year in a three year deal.

Stewart Baird, sales and operations director at Virgin Holidays says the package will save his company money.

'The sheer number of agents that have signed up to the service over the past 12 months made the decision to switch simple,' he said.

As well as sending invoices over the internet, Virgin Holidays will also be able to use the system to send out pre-departure alterations and other kinds of messages to its network of travel agents, saving further money on print and postage.
